The Joint Academy story

Shaping the future of pain management and movement

We’re redefining how people move beyond pain by bringing together science, human care, and artificial intelligence. Our platform empowers patients to recover faster, stay active longer, and gives clinicians and health systems the tools to deliver truly data-driven care.

Joint Academy was founded in 2015 by Jakob Dahlberg, who left his computer science studies to build the company alongside his father, Leif Dahlberg, a professor of orthopedics. From day one, our mission has been clear: create meaningful change at the intersection of scientific evidence, modern technology, and compassionate healthcare.

What began as a digital solution for joint pain has become a global treatment platform powered by AI and built on rigorous clinical research. Backed by more than 40 scientific publications, trusted by over 10,000 clinicians, and with more than 200,000 patients treated, Joint Academy is proving that when evidence and empathy come together, care can transform lives at scale.
